Shades of Blue EP
Comprised of five original tracks, including the buzzy singles “Slow Down” and “Unf!ltered,” Shades of Blue tells the story of resiliency, staying positive, and the importance of knowing who you are. “All of the songs on this EP are inspired by getting knocked down and then rising up. Those experiences came out of the blue and that's what led me to the EP name,” explains Peri.

Slow Down (Single)
Shades of Blue EP (2020)
The first single off the EP is “Slow Down,” which steadily builds into a beautiful and affirming track. Take a step back / Take a deep breath / Take another look at yourself / And slow down, slow down, slow down / it’s time to figure it out. The song is about taking charge of your own life and not letting others dictate your path. Peri describes, “After being told at Age 16 I only had one chance, and it was now or never, I wrote this song about my struggle with the industry and how I was always told to do it in other people's time and never at my own pace. It is at my own pace now.” The bridge of the track really lights up, with Peri’s band chanting and her strong vocals singing in a call and response People talk but you don’t listen to them!

Unf!ltered (Single)
Shades of Blue EP (2020)
The second release from the Shades of Blue EP, “Unfiltered”, exposes Peri El’s honesty and no holds barred attitude with a more uptempo track that has an empowering message. No matter what I do, it’s not good enough for you, and I’m not gonna change my Unfiltered ways. With elements of jazz fusion, the track glides along with a driving guitar riff and comes to a climactic build in the bridge with Peri dueting with the trumpet. “I am unfiltered in my own ways and no one can change me,” she declares.
